32 Weeks and Growing

Well 32 weeks and 4 more to go, time is approaching quickly!! Mike and I have been very busy this week with pregnancy photos, working around the house, spending time with friends, and traveling to fun places (that I get the go ahead for). After our weekly appointment we took a tour of the NICU at Mott's Children's Hospital that our baby boy will be at after he is delivered. It was really interesting to take a look at what the hospital has to offer to every patient and what we will get the chance to partake in while we are there too. We were able to get a tour of the entire NICU area; the waiting room, nursing room, laundry and bathroom, and baby's room. We took a look at the place he will be staying in and where we will be staying with him for most of his adventure after being born. It was eye opening to take a look at how the room is situated and the process of what he will need to accomplish or "pass" before he is able to come home with us.

At this week's appointment we took a look at the usual, as always; back, heart, brain, and organs. Everything was looking great; his organs are functioning well and look good, his heart was a solid 150 beats per minute, his brain is growing normally and head is looking more round than before, and his back wasn't visible because as usual he is breached and sitting where his scar is at. At this point Mike and I have just come to the realization that we will never get a look at his back or scar until he has been delivered and then we can check it out.

Since it had been three weeks since our last measurement appointment today we got to see how he has been growing. The last time we went through measurements he weighed about three pounds (2 pounds, 15 ounces to be exact) so it was exciting to see how much he has grown since. His stomach measured at about 31 weeks, and I will be 32 tomorrow. His legs measured at 32 weeks, his head was just under 32 weeks, and overall he was in the 29th percentile with his measurements which is good; so long as he doesn't drop in the 10th percentile but our doctor said that she wasn't worried about that happening.

While we were getting his measurements we were also told that he officially has hair! Our nurse showed us on the ultra-sound that little man has lots of hair on head, and I am personally excited to see if he will get Mike's curly hair or my straight hair... we will see!!!

So after going through all of these measurements and talking to the nurse and doctor, we found out that he officially weighs 3 pounds 14 ounces. He has gained almost an entire pound since his last measurement! We are hoping that if this continues and he gains the weight at this same rate, he will be a little over 5 pounds by the time he is born. Our doctor said I am doing all the right things and to keep doing what I'm doing so that he is staying healthy (go me ;) ).

So until next week's appointment we hope you enjoy taking a look at some of the maternity photos we had done this week at home. We were lucky enough to have the same photographer that took our wedding photos come to our house and take pictures of us and the dogs. A huge thank you to Daydream Galleries for the photos!!!

This picture was a lot harder to take than you may think....
